Deepika Padukone, the reigning queen of Bollywood and
Pakistan's gifted actor Fawad Khan lately walked the ramp for couturier Manish
Malhotra and they looked like a fairy-tale couple. Regrettably, fans of both
the actors, who were hoping to see them on the big screen, will have to wait
longer.
Contrary to the news, Fawad will not share screen space with
Deepika in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali forthcoming epic love story,
Padmavati. Seemingly, Fawad was a frontrunner to bag the role of Rawal Ratan
Singh, the ruler of Mewar, Rajasthan and Queen Padmavati's husband. Sources told
that the actor is presently tied up with his commitments in Pakistan and has
signed a three-film deal with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and hence cannot
take up SLB's project.
Though there is no official statement, news is that Deepika
has been roped in by the director for the title role. Beside her, actor Ranveer
Singh is also part of the movie, which is based on life of Emperor Allauddin
Khilji and Queen Padmavati. Ranveer is tipped to play the role of Allauddin
Khilji.
