Abir Gulaal Wraps Up Shoot!

The romantic comedy Abir Gulaal, starring Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor and Pakistani superstar Fawad Khan, started filming on September 29, 2024, at several sites in and around London. The latest reports suggest that the two have wrapped up their filming in the British metropolis. The film, which is being produced by Aarjay Pictures, Indian Stories, and A Richer Lens, is directed by Aarti S. Bagdi, who also produced Chalti Rahe Zindagi.

The 40-day filming schedule for Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor's upcoming film in London is finally finished, according to a daily. Reports state that a small group of people would initially see the film. It also mentions that the film's producers intend to promote it internationally, starting with screenings at various film festivals.

After it has screened at significant international film festivals, the business behind this cross-cultural project will determine whether to release it in theaters. Sometime in the second half of 2025, the movie is expected to be released in Indian theaters.

They also believed that due of their engaging performances and undeniable appeal, audiences will be captivated by the on-screen romance between Fawad and Vaani Kapoor.

According to filmmaker Aarti S. Bagdi's plot synopsis, the movie follows the journey of two people who, by chance, help one other recover, with love emerging as an unexpected climax. Fawad was adored and admired for his roles in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Kapoor & Sons, and other movies.

In Abir Gulaal, Fawad Khan portrays a chef who works in the UK. The film also features Lisa Hayden in addition to Vaani. Abir Gulaal is being directed by Arti Bagdi and produced by Vivek B. Agarwal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy.

Fawad Khan is a terrific actor for Karan Johar!

Filmmaker Karan Johar had a tough time last year during the release of his movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The ban on Pakistani artists in Indian films brought KJo's film under the scanner as it starred Fawad Khan in a key role.

Lately, when Karan Johar was present at the World Economic Forum, he was questioned about the ban and Fawad Khan. When the Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid told that she hopes to someday see Fawad Khan being directed by Karan Johar on the big screen, the first-rate filmmaker responded, "I'm trying to process how to answer that... You know what I went through. It was a tough time for me. I have a great regard for talent and I have a great regard for Fawad Khan's talent which is why he's been in two of our movies."

He further added, "The circumstances... we don't know where we're heading, and I think all great actors should find the best platforms and just like you, I hope Fawad Khan finds the best platform because he's a terrific actor. Having said that, I never want to go through what I went through again. Neither the situation, the circumstances, nor the apology. None of that is what made me feel comfortable. I felt weak, vulnerable, victimised, and as a filmmaker, I don't want to feel that. I just want to feel creatively liberated."

A few protests against 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' in Madhya Pradesh!

Some radical Hindu groups held protests against "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" in many cities of Madhya Pradesh on Friday. But, theatres continued to show the film which released on the occasion of 'Dhanteras'.

Hindu groups are opposing the movie as it features a Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in one main role.

Hindu right-wing groups led by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had given a call for banning Pakistani artistes working in Bollywood following a terrorist attack on an army camp in Uri sector of Jammu and Kahsmir in September.

Since the Karan Johar directorial features Fawad Khan, calls were made to ban "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" also. But, the movie was approved for release by MNS after Karan Johar made an appeal to the people to not stall the release of the movie and also agreed to donate Rs 5 crore to an army welfare fund.

The Shiv Sena workers held a protest outside a cineplex at Tatya Tope Nagar here. But their attempt to storm the theatre was thwarted by police.

A Hindu group stopped the screening of the movie in a multiplex for some time at Samdareeya Mall in Jabalpur.

Hindu groups held similar protests in Gwalior also.

No axe on Fawad’s key role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil!

Karan Johar's soon to be released film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is storming some rough weather due to the presence of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the film. While the film board has given the film the green signal, MNS officials are ready to agree screen film after promise of 5 crores to Army welfare fund.

In the middle of all the muddle, there were rumors doing the rounds that Fawad Khan's role has been sliced out of the film. But, a source close to the team slammed the rumors. They told, "It is not true at all that Fawad's scenes have been chopped off.  Fawad has an important role in the film, so much so that you can't call it a cameo. Whatsoever Fawad shot for in the movie, has been reserved fully. So there is no question of chopping it off. "

The movie features Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles.

Rs 5 crore to Army relief fund if any film has Pakistani stars till date; thanks to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil's controversy!

After much ruckus, the way has been paved for the smooth release of Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Recently Karan Johar had a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and MNS chief Raj Thackeray in Mumbai. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was under the scanner as it starred Pak actor Fawad Khan and Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) said it won't allow the release of any movie in India that featured Pakistani artistes.

At a press conference, Thackrey indicated to the media that, "Every producer who has cast a Pakistani actor must contribute Rs 5 crores to the Army welfare fund." He further included That "Producers will have to give in writing that they will not take Pakistani actors in their films in future." However, the MNS chief also raised a question over casting Pak actors in Indian films. "While Pakistan has banned Indian content, why do we give them a red carpet here." Claiming victory for MNS agitation, Raj Thackeray told, "We have always protested against Pakistani artistes but Bollywood never understood before. Now they have realized."

Mukesh Bhatt further added that it was "Positive and constructive and 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' will release as per the schedule," and added, "We discussed the unfortunate events related to the film's release. I shared the film industry's emotions regarding the entire issue. We are Indians first and then comes our business."

Bhatt also told that they have guaranteed the CM that neither the Producers' Guild nor any filmmaker will work with any Pakistani artiste or technician in the future. Also, the Guild will call a meeting to pass a resolution on not working with Pakistani artists. A copy of the same would be sent to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry as well as the Chief Minister, he said.

Moreover, Johar has decided to put a special mention in the beginning of the movie paying homage to martyrs. "Karan Johar will display a slate of tribute for Uri martyrs before 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' starts playing out in the screens. It is a tribute from us to our soldiers," Bhatt told, adding "We owe this to the Army."

Amidst the uproars, Fawad Khan to play a musician in Shyam Benegal's Ye Raste Hain Pyaar Ke!

In middle of all the hullabaloos regarding Pakistani artistes working in Bollywood, Shyam Benegal's pronouncement of casting Fawad Khan in his next has surprised all.

Seemingly, Khan will play the lead role in Benegal's next titled Ye Raste Hain Pyaar Ke, which will talk about reuniting Pak and India through art and cultural ties. The movie will be directed by Harsh Narayan and Fawad may play a musician in it.

We surprise how the movie fraternity and movie enthusiasts will react to Benegal's debatable decision.

Karan Johar uses technology to replace Fawad Khan's face with Saif Ali Khan in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil!

Ever since the MNS threatened to not let movies starring Pakistani actors to be released in the wake of the terror attack on an Indian Army base in Uri, director Karan Johar, whose next movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil stars Fawad Khan, has been tensed about whether his movie will get released this Diwali and it seems that Johar has devised a way to keep his movie out of trouble.

Sources reveal that Johar will be using a technology to replace Fawad Khan's face with Saif Ali Khan in the movie as he cannot afford to reshoot sequences, which star Fawad. Though there has not been any confirmation from Dharma Productions regarding the same, it is being told that Johar decided to take this step to avoid facing any issues on the release date of the movie. There had also been rumors that Johar has changed the nationalities of the leading ladies Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan from Pakistani to Indian Muslim.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil also stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.

But, did you know who was really responsible for persuading Fawad to take up this challenge? No, it was not producer Karan Johar, but Fawad's wife! Fawad Khan will miss to be a husband of Deepika Padukone in ‘Padmavati’!

Deepika Padukone, the reigning queen of Bollywood and Pakistan's gifted actor Fawad Khan lately walked the ramp for couturier Manish Malhotra and they looked like a fairy-tale couple. Regrettably, fans of both the actors, who were hoping to see them on the big screen, will have to wait longer.

Contrary to the news, Fawad will not share screen space with Deepika in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali forthcoming epic love story, Padmavati. Seemingly, Fawad was a frontrunner to bag the role of Rawal Ratan Singh, the ruler of Mewar, Rajasthan and Queen Padmavati's husband. Sources told that the actor is presently tied up with his commitments in Pakistan and has signed a three-film deal with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and hence cannot take up SLB's project.

Though there is no official statement, news is that Deepika has been roped in by the director for the title role. Beside her, actor Ranveer Singh is also part of the movie, which is based on life of Emperor Allauddin Khilji and Queen Padmavati. Ranveer is tipped to play the role of Allauddin Khilji.

News has it that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is all set to romance actress Katrina Kaif in Karan Johar's forthcoming production. Seemingly, the forthcoming romantic drama will be directed by debutant director Aditya Dhar.

Previously, Katrina had turned down Karan's other production featuring Sushant Singh Rajput as it was a hero-centric script. Fawad Khan and Parineeti Chopra to act in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gustakhiyan’?

Actors Fawad Khan and Parineeti Chopra are probable to share screen space soon as the makers of Gustakhiyaan have approached them for the movie, which is apparently based on the lives of poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi and writer Amrita Pritam.

Sources told that the makers have zeroed in on the two actors after much deliberation. But, there is no official statement on the development. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious project has been on the anvil since some time now but the makers have failed to finalise the right cast for the movie.

Previously, names of Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan were doing the rounds for the lead roles. While Priyanka could not take up the project due to unavailability of dates, the makers of the movie felt that Irrfan would not suit the younger version of the poet-lyricist's character, which will age from his early 20s to his early 50s.

In the meantime, Parineeti is currently shooting for Meri Pyaari Bindu, while Fawad will be next seen in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Fawad Khan has earned so much praise for his performance in Kapoor & Sons that Karan Johar is considering fleshing out his small role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Yup, KJo wants to upgrade the Pakistani actor’s cameo in the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer. Since Karan’s penned the story for this one himself he’s consulting with his direction team for ideas on how to give Fawad more scenes.
