Sonakshi Sinha, who has generally played a 'demure, desi'
girl in her movies, will be seen in an action-packed avatar for the very first
time in Akira and the trailer of the movie was revealed today.
Starring Sonakshi as the central character, the trailer
revolves around Akira, an aggressive girl with a dark past from Jodhpur, who
shifts to Mumbai for education and ends up locking horns with a corrupt cop,
played by Anurag Kashyap. The trailer is full of raw action and some
hard-hitting dialogues. Though Sonakshi enthralled us with her action scenes,
it was Anurag Kashyap, who sent a chill up our spines with his baddie avatar.
The movie also stars Konkona Sen Sharma as a police officer.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, Akira, which is the remake of
Tamil flick Mouna Guru, is slated to hit theatres on September 2.
