Salman Khan‘s Sultan has hit the screens and has got a bumper
opening. While news suggested that the movie might get affected coz the Eid
date has shifted to tomorrow, we overhear from cinema and multiplexes owners
across India that there has been no impact at all. In fact, the movie has had a
phenomenal start with the advance booking itself and today, all the cinemas and
multiplexes have opened to HOUSEFULL shows.
Yes, the occupancy is in between 80-90 per cent across India
(as suggested to us by the cinema and multiplex heads mentioned below), which
is the highest ever this year. Most of the shows across India are Housefull and
numerous people are lining up for tickets even though advance booking opened on
Sunday itself.
VP Programming and Distribution of a leadin cinema, disclosed,
“Sultan opened with full houses across India (at multiplexes). The kind of
response we are seeing is tremendous. During the advance booking itself, Sultan
has already broken all the records. It has the highest advance booking ever and
now the film has opened tremendously.”
Owner of single-screen chain told, “Sultan will start now.
The audience booking have been very good and we expect a lot of bookings today
too. In fact, a lot of people from our Muslim community will let go of their
tickets because the date of Eid has shifted. They will see the movie tomorrow
now.”
The film’s box office collections are going to be big in coming
days.
