Director Kabir Khan's next to be on 1983 Cricket World Cup victory?

Lately, Phantom Films bought the rights to make a movie on India's world cup victory in 1983 and now there is a strong news that the production house is keen to rope in director Kabir Khan to make the movie. The production house is co-owned by filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena.


After the biopics Azhar, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and the docu-drama Sachin- A Billion Dreams, this is the next reel life bigwig to take cricket into every home. Sources told that if everything goes according to plan, Kabir, after finishing his forthcoming with Salman Khan titled Tubelight, will start working on the cricket film early next year. According to Phantom Films, they want to recreate Indian cricket team's unforgettable journey on screen with a bevy of actors playing these pin-up idols.
