Saif’s damage control statement after Amrita Singh’s criticism over his remark on Sara’s debut!

Bollywood’s ex couple Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan's Bollywood debut has been grabbing headlines for months now. While firstly, Sara's debut was to happen under Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions, lately, it was pronounced that she would finally step into Bollywood with Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath with Sushant Singh Rajput.

When Saif was questioned about his daughter's debut in an interview lately, he expressed his nervousness over Sara choosing acting as a career.

Now, it seems Saif's remark hasn't gone down well with his ex-wife Amrita Singh. Apparently, she was livid about what Saif said and thought of it as a damaging statement. She called him up and criticized for the remark.

A source in the know informed the daily, "She told him it was an irresponsible thing to say considering Sara is about to embark on a film career.” The insider adds, “Saif didn’t want to be dragged into an argument, so he mumbled that he was ‘quoted out of context’ and calmed down his former wife."

Interestingly, after that phone call, Saif at another press conference did the damage control. He told that his statements were taken out of context. "I love my daughter, support her and I think her choice is great. Of course, she is an actress, she belongs to a family of artistes, which is great, but I am still a little concerned for her as it is an unsure profession. Because I love her, I worry for her. That’s all I am saying. Is that clear? People write things like, ‘He doesn’t know what he is saying. He doesn’t know his mind.’ I find that annoying," clarified Saif.
