Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati set
was torched lately for the second time, this time in Kolhapur. B-Town woke up
to this shocking news as it wasn't clear as to who was behind this uninvited vandalism.
But, as per to a famous tabloid, the police might have got
some clue regarding the culprits. "We are gathering information about the
movement of vehicles on the roads leading to the plateau from Panhala and
Kolhapur. We are also checking CCTV footage from hotels, lodges, and shops
located on these roads," Special inspector general, Kolhapur range was
quoted saying by a leading daily.
Kolhapur police are also trying to gather as much
information possible from the youths based in the neighboring areas.
About 70-80% of the costumes were burnt to ashes due to this
incident. Reports even suggest that the Mumbai unit of the Rajput Karni Sena
was behind this attack. Answering to this, Special inspector general said,
"We have got information about this. We will soon conduct an investigation
into the claim and take action after confirming the statement."
In the meanwhile, the movie crew is apparently planning to
resume shooting after 10 days. "We are taking the material to a safe place
nearby Kolhapur now as a precautionary measure. We will return within 10 days
to complete the shooting," disclosed a crew member.
A group of people had set the Padmavati set on
fire on Wednesday at around 12:30 AM. An official complaint has been lodged
regarding the same.
Previously in January, the Padmavati shoot in
Jaipur was also disrupted wherein the members of the Karni Sena had also
misbehaved with Bhansali for allegedly misrepresenting the facts.
Directed by Bhansali, the historical drama stars Shahid
Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead
roles.
