Kangana’s co-direction for Rani of Jhansi's biopic Manikarnika is not true!

Ever since it was pronounced that Kangana Ranaut will be essaying the role of Rani Laxmi Bai, admirers have been thrilled to see Kangana in a different avatar.

The film which is titled Manikarnika was firstly supposed to be directed by Ketan Mehta and was supposed to go on floors soon but recently the director backed out of the project. The script of the movie is written by Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan's writer KV Vijayendra Prasad who is SS Rajamouli's father.

Now, news were widespread that Kangana will also be co-directing the movie and that she and Ketan had a fallout because of that and he ended up leaving the project.

An insider close to the actress, but, dismissed the rumours. They told, "There is no truth to this. Kangana will not be co-directing the movie."

In the meantime, on the film front, Kangana was last seen in Rangoon which also starred Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor as the leads. The film did not perform well at the box office but Kangana's act was loved as Julia.

She will next be seen in Simran. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Shailesh Singh and directed by Hansal Mehta, the film is scheduled to release on September 17, 2017. The script is written by Apurva Asrani and also stars Kangana's Queen Co-star Rajkummar Rao. In the film, Kangana plays the role of a Gujarati NRI.
