Actor Rajkummar Rao took in all the limelight and admirations
for his realistic acting in Vikramaditya Motwane's Trapped. He is all set to
take the level of his acting up a notch in Hansal Mehta's Omerta. How?
Well, there was a scene in the movie where he was to be
hanged upside down and Rajkummar to make it look as real as possible did
something unimaginable. The actor said a famous daily, "There was a scene
in which the police remand Omar and I was hung upside down. The action crew and
actors were required to thrash me (for the sequence). I asked them to actually
beat me up."
"It's important that the scene look authentic. I wanted
to feel the pain because that makes Omar mentally strong. I wasn't
scared," further added Rao.
Omerta will follow the life of the British born terrorist
Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, known for his involvement in the kidnapping and murder
of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002, and his links to various
Islamist organizations. Rajkummar essays the titular role and the first look of
the movie created a stir among all his fans.
This is Rajkummar's fourth with director Hansal Mehta after Aligarh, Citylight and Shahid.
It'll be fascinating to see Rajummar step into the shoes of Ahmed Omar Saeed
Sheikh.
