Actress Raveena Tandon returns
to the silver screen with Maatr as a strong-willed mother filled with
revenge. The movie that also marks the comeback of Tandon has already generated
a lot of buzz and the trailer released today, will only add to the excitement.
Emphasizing on the heinous crime such as rape, the movie follows
the life of a mother who takes charge to seek justice for her daughter after
the society and the judiciary fail her. She is out there to take revenge from
the criminals who destroyed her daughter's life. They are powerful, capable of
doing anything but here is a mother standing up against all of them in her
quest for justice.
Raveena proves yet again why she is one of the best
actresses we have.
It traces her journey from being a law abiding citizen to
that of a person who is forced to take law into her own hands.
Will her vengeance triumph over judiciary? Will she be able
to do justice for her daughter? Well, we will have to wait and watch for the tale
to unfold.
The film also confronts us with some chilling fact, it ends
saying that as each of us watch this trailer, and a girl got raped in some part
of the country.
Written by Michael Pellico, Maatr also features
Divya Jagdale, Anurag Arora in pivotal roles. The movie has been directed by
Ashtar Sayed and is set to hit the theatres on April 21, 2017.
