Disney’s search for a director for its live-action
adaptation of Mulan is finally over.
After months of searching and a polite “no thanks” from Ang
Lee, the studio has signed Niki Caro to helm the movie. The deal makes Niki
only the second female filmmaker to direct a film with a budget of over $100
million, which is definitely nothing to turn your nose up at. I suggest you
catch up on her excellent body of work that includes Whale Rider and The
Zookeeper’s Wife before Mulan hits screens in November 2018.
