Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor's
younger brother Ishaan Khatter is
all set to make his film debut in Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's Beyond
The Clouds. The film went on floors recently in the city.
There were numerous reports about Deepika
Padukone being part of the movie. She even underwent a look test on
the busy streets of Mumbai. But, unluckily, she didn't make it to the cast of
the movie. Seemingly, Majid didn't find Deepika convincing for the role.
Previously Kangana Ranaut also
rejected the role, stating her role was submissive and less meaty than her
onscreen brother.
Now, Majid has finally found his leading lady. Gifted theater actor
Malavika Mohanan is finalised to play Ishaan's sister in the movie. Malavika is
the daughter of renowned cinematographer K. U. Mohanan.
Speaking about it, a source specified, "Mr. Majidi
found his character in Malavika. He was looking for a face, that could fit the
character and own it and for him, Malavika made the cut."
A spokesperson from the producers Zee Studios and Eyecandy
confirmed the report telling, "Yes, Malavika is on board to play the
leading lady in the film - Beyond The Clouds. Mr. Majidi
did a look test with her and was very happy with the results. She has started
the shoot in Mumbai."
Speaking about the plot, the movie deals with human
relationships centered around a brother and a
sister played by Ishaan and Malavika respectively.
About Majid, the ace filmmaker is famous for his works
namely Children of Heaven, The Colors of
Paradise, Baran and much more.
