Vicky Kaushal feels story is the hero of film!

Bollywood’s newbie Vicky Kaushal has captivated the viewers with his acts in Netflix special movies Love Per Square Foot, Lust Stories and movies like Raazi and Sanju.

His act as Kamli in film Sanju is considered one of his best acts till date. In a chat with a daily, Vicky Kaushal was asked how did the role of Kamli come to him. He replied, "Before I began shooting for Love Per Square Foot, Rajkumar Hirani called me to his office. He’d seen Masaan and liked my performance. He told me about a film he was working on and about a friend of the lead. He wasn’t sure if I was going to be the right fit, but honestly, it didn’t matter — I was happy to be considered for a part. A year went by and I was asked to screen test for Kamli’s part. I auditioned, and it was the drunk scene with Paresh Rawal, and it was done in such a hurry, I wasn’t sure it was good enough."

Vicky Kaushal is being called the 'character actor' along with a lead actor he plays in his films. On this, he told, "Yes, that’s right. I have never looked at a role in terms of how much screen time I’ll get, but in terms of what is the arc of this character, where does he fit into the scheme of things. I realised this after Masaan — the hero of any film is the story. That’s what makes any actor in any capacity the hero. If the audience takes the story back home, then they’re likely to take the characters as well,"

Vicky Kaushal is presently busy shooting for his film Uri.
