Director Siddharth Anand’s next Indo-China project, ‘Love
In Beijing’ is coming soon. As the title advocates, it is the love story of a
Chinese man and an Indian girl. According to a famous magazine, Chinese actor
Deng Chao of The Mermaid fame could be considered for the role of the
leading man. But, the problem is casting the leading lady. Sidharth specified
he will either go for Deepika Padukone or Priyanka Chopra for the role.
In an interview with the magazine, he told, "It could
possibly be one of them." Talking about the film, Siddharth told,
"Yes, it's a cross-cultural romance set in Beijing. I'm excited to explore
and showcase another culture through this film. Our Chinese producers have
suggested Deng Chao's name but we will take a final call when I visit China
next month."
He further added, "We've been working in my office
since the last week and should be able to lock the script by December. The
Chinese are strong-minded people and its great fun to work with them. I've
never shot in China before so it's a blind spot for me. But I will be
travelling there next month with the writers for a recce."
