Actor Varun Dhawan has been signed on for the lead role
in the sequel of his filmmaker father David Dhawan's 1997 hit comedy Judwaa.
The original Judwaa featured megastar Salman Khan in a double role,
Karisma Kapoor and Rambha. Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez
will play the female leads and Salman and Karisma, who were part of the
original movie, will make cameo appearances.
At an event, Varun opened up on the advice Salman gave it to
him. He told, “The only advice Salman Khan has given me for Judwaa 2 is that
‘listen to your dad (director David Dhawan) and don’t be over smart’."
He further added, “I just remember watching Judwaa in the
theatre during a special screening and meeting Salman Khan for the first time.
I don’t remember much as I was small.”
He further added, “It is sad that we don’t make films on
taporis anymore. There will be a big change in the character of Raja in the
sequel. But I would not like to speak much about it. It is far different from
what Salman did in the first film,”
Will Rambha be a part of Judwaa 2? To this Varun replied, “I
cannot say anything about it right now because I want people to be surprised,
especially by Salman Khan’s character in the film."
