The films from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Ae Dil
Hai Mushkil, filmmaker Karan Johar has taken us through
different phases of love and heartbreak. But, one always feels that romantic
Bollywood flicks are a tad bit too overdramatic.
When Karan was questioned about his flicks at the lately
held India Today's Conclave, he specified that somewhere in films lie our
real-life scenarios. He told, "People say Hindi films are theatrical and
dramatic, but somewhere its roots are in real life. I have been at a shaadi ka
mandap when the love of my life was getting married to somebody else... When it
happens to you, you feel like you can't get over what's happening to you."
He also told, "A happy marriage in the industry
would really jolt me. I'd be like, 'You're a dinosaur, get out of here'."
When questioned if he would be poor and have true love or be
rich and single, Karan disclosed, "True love goes away, lust takes over at
times, so I would be rich and single."
In ADHM, Karan weaves a story on how to get over heartbreak.
When asked in real-life on how to overcome heartbreak, KJo told, "Make
your work your ambition. Not your love life."
In the meantime, Karan is presently living the best phase of
his life as he became a father to twins, Roohi and Yash.
While OK Jaanu did not live up to the
expectations, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, under Dharma Productions is
doing remarkably well at the ticket window. Karan's next focus is on Baahubali:
The Conclusion, whose trailer has created a storm and people are eagerly
waiting to see the movie.
