After an unsatisfactory act of Rock On 2 at the
box office, Farhan Akhtar is presently busy with the shoot of Anand Surapur’s The
Fakir of Venice. The 43-year-old actor was lately filming near the border area
but got into trouble when the security forces stationed there caught him with a
monkey in his car.
Seemingly, the actor was driving along with a monkey and was
caught by the cops who had no idea who he was. Farhan seemingly had a hard time
convincing them that it was a film and they were shooting a sequence.
Farhan essays the role of a production executive in the
movie, which chronicles his unusual project of finding a holy saint who could
stay under sand with only his hands visible outside.
As per to a report in a famous tabloid, it has lately been
surfaced that The Fakir of Venice was supposed to be Farhan’s debut
as an actor and not Rock On (2008).
A source has revealed a tabloid, “An offbeat film, it would
also mark the debut of director Anand Surapur, had it released then. However,
with no definite plan for it, especially in India, it languished in obscurity
for years. Rock On!! came and went.”
The film also stars Kamal Sindhu, Annu Kapoor, German actor
Mathieu Carrier and Italian actress Valentina Carnelutti.
Produced by Punit Desai, it has been shot in Mumbai, Banaras,
Ladakh and Venice.
Apart from The Fakir of Venice, Farhan is prepping up
for another interesting project Lucknow Central. Helmed by Ranjit Tiwari,
the film also stars Diana Penty.
