Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is set to follow her directorial debut Nil
Battey Sannata with a documentary about India’s artisans.
The film is the result of the moviemaker’s fascination with
the handloom and crafts industry, and her desire to do her bit for sustainable
fashion and textile. Ashwiny will travel through villages that are renowned for
their craftsmanship to record her material, and she believes that giving these
workers a face and voice will encourage others to buy from them. Expect lots of
colour when this one hits screens.
