Farhan Akhtar’s NO for promotion of his debut film ‘The Fakir of Venice’!

Bollywood filmmaker and director Farhan Akhtar made his acting debut with Rock On!! in the year 2008. For his role as Aditya Shroff, Farhan won several accolades and then there was no turning back for the actor.

But, only a few of them know that Rock On!! was not supposed to be his acting debut. Yes, the multifaceted actor had worked on another project titled The Fakir of Venice which isn't released yet. But, now the makers are gearing up for the release of the movie.

Now, as per a famous daily, Farhan is yet to join the promotional campaign of the movie and has not given a green signal about it to the makers. Speaking about it, an insider specified, "The makers have been trying to get in touch with Farhan for a while but in vain. He may be busy with other commitments, but they are hoping to receive a reply at least."

The first look of the movie was released on Monday and it showed Farhan and Annu Kapoor in hermit attire. The film is directed by ad filmmaker Anand Surapur and also stars Kamal Sidhu in a pivotal role.

Presently, Farhan has started shooting for Lucknow Central in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The source further added, "The Fakir of Venice got stuck when the producers changed, but the issue has been resolved and the film is ready for release. It is the director's debut project too."

The Fakir of Venice is reportedly inspired by filmmaker Homi Adajania's real experiences during his travels and was screened at several film festivals.

When the producer Punit Desai was asked about the development of the film, he told, "We are in talks for dubbing certain parts and exploring the opportunity for a promotional song with Farhan and AR Rahman."

While Anand told, "Farhan and I go back a long way. He has always been supportive of my endeavours."
