Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and director Siddharth Anand have reunited after an almost 17-year hiatus! With a social media post on May 27, the director reunited with the actor he refers to as his "first hero" by sharing a photo from the Budapest sets. The project's true identity is unknown, although it's widely believed to be the upcoming heist thriller Jewel Thief.
Saif Ali Khan and Siddharth Anand rejoin for Jewel Thief, starting in Budapest.
“Back on set with my first hero”
Siddharth Anand wrote on social media, “Back on set with my first hero! How can
nothing change? Haha! Love you Saif!”
The project, which stars Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Nikita Dutta, began filming in February 2024. Robbie Grewal's Jewel Thief appears to be an entertaining action movie. This is Anand's second production endeavor under his Marflix Pictures banner, following the upscale action film Fighter.
The action of Jewel Thief is said to revolve around a dramatic encounter between Khan and Ahlawat's egos, while the plot is still unknown. The movie's screenplay, written by Grewal, Anand, and Sambit Mishra, promises a furious game of wits set against the backdrop of a high-stakes heist. Ever since it was revealed that Netflix had paid an estimated Rs. 60 crore for the film's rights, speculation among industry insiders has been rampant.
Commercial hits were produced by Saif Ali Khan and Siddharth Anand on their previous collaborations, Salaam Namaste (2005) and Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007). In this film, they reconcile after a 17-year break.
Saif Ali Khan will make an appearance in the upcoming Telugu film Devara: Part
1, which is directed by Jr. NTR and also features Janhvi Kapoor. The planned
delivery date is October 2024.
