Kiara completed her schooling at the prestigious Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from Jai Hind College.

A Name Change and Bollywood Debut

Born Alia Advani, Kiara opted for a stage name before entering the film industry. With another talented actress, Alia Bhatt, already established in Bollywood, Kiara chose the name ‘Kiara,’ inspired by Priyanka Chopra's character in the film Anjaana Anjaani. Salman Khan, a renowned Bollywood star, is said to have recommended the name change.

Kiara’s cinematic debut came in 2014 with the film Fugly. Though the movie wasn't a commercial success, it marked the beginning of her acting career.
