Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is gearing up to make a movie on
Sultan Alauddin Khilji's obsession for Queen Padmavati, seems to be already
facing stiff resistance even before Padmavati goes on floors.
It seems that Hardik Patel, the president of the PNS has
declared that they wouldn't allow Bhansali to shoot or screen his movie in
Rajasthan and Gujarat, unless he assures them that Rani Padmini's
representation would be historically correct. Seemingly, the Rajput Sena had
doubts about Bhansali's movie and how Padmavati, who is considered an icon in
Rajasthan, would be depicted in it. They expressed their reservations to Hardik
Patel, who promised to take up the issue on their behalf. Fascinatingly,
Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani too had run into trouble with certain groups, who
had objected to his depiction of Peshwa Bajirao and Mastani.
Padmavati is slated to star Deepika Padukone as Queen
Padmavati, Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as Raja Ratnasen.
