Social activist Anna Hazare, who led the struggle to get the
tough anti-corruption law Lokpal Bill activated, will soon be the subject of a
biopic titled Anna and a teaser of the biopic was revealed lately.
Directed by Shashank Udapurkar, who also plays the titular
role, Anna will not only focus on Hazare's current feats, but will also offer a
glimpse into his childhood, his years as a soldier in the Indian Army, his life
as a farmer and his return to Ralegan Siddhi, where he began his struggle
against corruption. Apart from Udapurkar, the movie also stars Tannisha
Mukherji, who plays a TV journalist covering Anna's campaign, Rajit Kapoor, a
TV anchor, Govind Namdeo and others. The movie has been shot at various
locations including Kashmir, Mizoram, Mumbai, Delhi and Ralegan Siddhi.
For those who do not know much about Anna Hazare's life
before the Lokpal agitation, this biopic is a good way to know the social
activist, who has today become the face of anti-corruption in India.
Anna is slated to release on October 14 this year.
