Vicky Kaushal to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati'?

After giving inspiring acts in Masaan and Raman Raghav 2.0, actor Vicky Kaushal is making a transition to mainstream commercial cinema. Seemingly, the actor has already bagged Aanand L. Rai's project and a Bejoy Nambiar movie, now there is a strong news that Vicky has been roped in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati.

Bhansali's next is a biopic on Queen Padmavati of Mewar and supposedly, the director has decided to cast Vicky to play the role of King Rawal Ratan Singh, husband of the Mewar queen. Sources told that SLB intended to cast a fresh talent for the role and he is highly impressed with Vicky's performances.

The film reportedly deals with Alauddin Khilji's obsession with Padmavati and Ranveer Singh is likely to play the Khilji dynasty emperor and Deepika Padukone will essay the role of Queen Padmavati. Apart from Padmavati, there is also a buzz that SLB and Vicky are discussing a possible collaboration for Bhansali's next production, a rom-com that will be helmed by a new director.
