Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor made her debut this year with
Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak. Janhvi stars along with Ishaan Khatter in the movie.
Dhadak performed well at the box office and became a hit. Even before she could
make her Bollywood debut, Janhvi was pitted against Sara Ali Khan. Sara is yet
to make her debut, but people already started making comparisons between the
two along with Ananya Panday. Actually, Janhvi, Sara and Ananya are very good buddies.
In a chat with a daily, when Janhvi was questioned if she
senses any rivalry between her, Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria,
she replied, "I don't know why everyone is pitting us against each other.
I guess people enjoy doing that. Competition is a bad thing if you make it
sound that way." Janhvi questioned about the sexism behind this question
and said that such questions are only asked to women. Janhvi Kapoor asked why
no one asks such questions to her co-star Ishaan Khatter.
"It’s also odd because I think you only pit women
against each other. Why is no one asking Ishaan the same question — if he’s
feeling the sting of competition, too! People love pitting women against each
other. But in reality, we can be happy and celebrate each other’s success. It’s
easy to co-exist if you are doing a good job," questioned Janhvi.
