After a long gap, real-life couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
and Abhishek Bachchan will be starring in Anurag Kashyap's project Gulab Jamun.
The film will be helmed by Sarvesh Mewara. While promoting her latest outing
Fanney Khan also starring Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, in a chat with a daily,
Aishwarya had verified the Gulab Jamun casting conjectures which had been rife
since 2017. Aishwarya shared that the script of Gulab Jamun was beautiful and
that Abhishek and she were the perfect fit for the movie.
As per media source, Amitabh Bachchan may join his son and
daughter-in-law in Gulab Jamun. The trio was last seen in Ram Gopal Varma's
Sarkar Raj (2008). A source disclosed to a daily that talks between Anurag and
Big B had initiated last year after he spoke to Aishwarya and Abhishek. Big B
had suggested a few tweaks to the script. After Abhishek wrapped shooting for
Manmarziyaan (directed by Anurag), the filmmaker reached out to Big B yet again
with the reworked script. If things work out, he will be starring in Gulab
Jamun but it is yet to be known if he will be essaying Abhishek or Aishwarya's
father.
