After the release of Housefull [2010], Riteish Deshmukh has
enjoyed an enormous streak of commercial successes.
"The film was Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya and while that
film was a decent success as well, Riteish chose to go very selective in
picking assignments where he is the only star of the show," comments a spectator.
After much discussion he gave a green signal to Banjo, and
true to his character, he is enjoying every bit of it.
"The film presents him in a light like never
before," an insider discloses, "He is playing a musician in the film
and director Ravi Jadhav is making sure that a brand new Riteish is presented
before the audience. Riteish and Ravi share great tuning as latter had directed
former's Marathi production Balak Palak. Now that the shooting of Banjo is
almost through, Riteish is quite thrilled about what he has seen."
As a matter of fact, Riteish has also gone through a
complete look change for this Krishika Lulla production where he has Nargis
Fakhri as the leading lady.
"Somehow, Riteish has been associated with comedy
genre, though he has been trying to dabble across different subjects," he
continues, "In Ek Villain, he dared to turn into an out and out villain,
and succeeded in a big way. Even in the early years of his career he was trying
out films like Naach and Rann. But, since his comic movies were succeeding the
most, those who were investing in him continued to bring him more such similar
subjects."
Well, perhaps Banjo will do the trick for him, though not
before two other comic movies - Housefull 3 and Great Grand Masti - arrive
before it.
