Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen playing an idealistic
doctor in forthcoming movie Udta Punjab, but what many might not know is that
Kareena's character is based on an actual doctor who the director Abhishek
Chaubey met while researching for the movie.
Explaining on the same, Chaubey told that while in Tarn
Taran, he met a doctor of psychiatry, who travelled every day from Amritsar to
see addicts hooked to drugs. Chaubey added that when he asked the doctor why he
chooses to drive for a couple of hours from Amritsar to Tarn Taran to help
addicts fight drugs, the doctor reportedly said that he does this because
someone has to. Chaubey revealed that this doctor proved to be an inspiration
for Kareena's character.
Udta Punjab also stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Diljit
Dosanjh and others.
