Is Kangana Ranaut's 'Simran' inspired by the life of 'Bombshell Bandit' Sandeep Kaur?

It has been informed that Kangana Ranaut will team up with Hansal Mehta for Simran, a movie about a Gujarati girl staying in the US, who takes to a life of crime and we have heard that the movie has been inspired by the life of Sandeep Kaur, who was also known as the 'Bombshell Bandit'.


For those who do not know this, Sandeep Kaur, a registered nurse took to robbing banks to finance her gambling addiction and was convicted of robbing four banks in USA, following which, she was sentenced for 66 months in April 2015. Called the 'Bombshell Bandit' due to her stylish disguises and bomb threats, Kaur, who had moved to California from Punjab to study and work as a registered nurse, captured the attention of many, including Hansal, it seems.
