Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, after Haseena, has
signed yet a new biopic. This time, the actress will step into Badminton
champion Saina Nehwal's shoes. The film was pronounced lately and will be
helmed by director Amole Gupte.
In an interview with a daily, when Shraddha was questioned
about doing the biopic, she told, "I have only a few months to look as
professional as her. It's definitely the toughest role of my career. It's not
going to be easy, but I am ready for the challenge. I will start training as
soon as Half Girlfriend releases."
She further adds, "Biopics are usually made on public
figures, so, to factually present it on celluloid and playing that character to
perfection is important. I am excited to play Saina and plan to spend a lot of
time with her to get a sense of her journey to the top. So far, we have
exchanged SMSes, expressing excitement over the film."
In an interview to another daily Shraddha clarified, "I
also played badminton and I'm thrilled that in my quest to be the former World
No. 1 and a youth icon, I'll get to train in the sport again. I'm sure it's
going to be my most difficult film yet as Saina has spent her whole life
playing badminton and in the next few months, I have to get close to the
standards she's set,"
When queried about working with Amole Gupte, Shraddha said,
"He has fabulous energy and so much love to give. Such people are
rare."
In the meantime, Shraddha Kapoor's Half
Girlfriend that also stars Arjun Kapoor in the lead releases on
May 19, 2017.
