Kangana Ranaut was lately embroiled in a controversy with
her Simran co-writer Apurva Asrani over the writing credits for the film.
Apurva condemned the makers of the movie - Hansal Mehta and Shailesh Singh for
giving Kangana the co-writer's credit and printing her name before his on the
film's poster.
What followed next was a war of words between Apurva,
Hansal, Kangana and Shailesh.
A week after the entire controversy, actress Vidya Balan
took a dig at Kangana. Vidya, who is presently working on Tumhari Sulu, posted
a picture of her holding a credit card on her Instagram account. She captioned
the photo as, "Who needs credit when your director gifts you this card?!! Thankoo
Suresh Triveni."
While Apurva Asrani laughed over the joke that the Tumhari
Sulu producers made out of the whole controversy on 'additional credit', we
wondered what would Kangana react to it.
To know that, we got in touch with the powerhouse actress.
When we questioned Kangana about Vidya's dig, she joked, "Haha I read
about that. Vidya is a dear friend and honestly, I am not a thin-skinned person
when it comes to people taking digs or jibes at me."
Directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Shailesh Singh,
Kangana Ranaut's Simran is all set to release on September 15, 2017. The first
teaser of the movie released two weeks back and Kangana's chaplin-sque avatar
impressed the audience. The actress also has Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi
in her kitty. The movie will go on-floors soon and is slated for an April 27,
2018, release.
