Last year in 2016, Bollywood finished the year with a bang
as Aamir Khan's Dangal smashed the box-office and
created a stir. Not only was it because of the amazing star cast that comprised
of Aamir, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra, but it was also
the content of the film that enthralled the viewers. The film was directed by
Nitesh Tiwari.
In 2017, it was SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The
Conclusion that created an uproar and fans went berserk at the ticket
counter. It was the much-awaited sequel to Baahubali and the audience
flocked to the theaters. The star cast included Prabhas, Anushka Shetty,
Rana Daggubati and Sathyaraj.
Both the movies have been doing phenomenally well worldwide
and have crossed the INR 1500 crore mark.
When Aamir was asked if Dangal would be able to
beat Baahubali 2's worldwide collections, Khan said, "I am very
happy the film is being appreciated so much in China and across the world. But
I don’t think there should be any comparisons."
He added, "I feel there shouldn’t be a comparison
between the two. Both are good films in their own rights, both are Indian films
which are making the country proud."
On whether he has seen Baahubali 2, the actor
revealed, "I have not seen Baahubali 2 yet but it’s a very
successful film and have heard so many good things about
it."
He added, "I am proud of Baahubali as well
and as an Indian fan, I would really appreciate the fact that the film is doing
so well all over the world."
