Akshay Kumar has been on a film signing spree and real-life
characters seem to interest the actor, the most. After astonishing all as
Ranjit Katyal in Raja Krishna Menon's Airlift, Akshay would be seen stepping
into the shoes of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the inventor of low-cost sanitary
napkins making machine, in Padman.
He also has Gold lined up next which is based on an Olympian
who won the first gold medal at Olympics after India got Independence.
Now, if the report in a famous tabloid is to be believed,
then Akshay has purchased the rights to the story of the Raniganj Coalfield
rescue mission of 1989. The film will be based on the hero of the rescue
operation J.S. Gill, who was the Additional Chief Mining Engineer. He had
risked his life and gone down the borehole in the capsule and evacuated 64
miners, trapped underground.
But, there is no official announcement about it yet.
