Isha Ambani’s first dazzling appearance at Met Gala 2017!

Date May 1, 2017 has marked Isha Ambani’s first appearance at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, whose exhibition Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garçons: The Art of the In-Between celebrates legendary Japanese designer, Rei Kawakubo, the second time the honor has been bestowed on a living designer since 1983.

Paying tribute to Kawakubo's remarkable creativity and radical impact on fashion, Isha Ambani wore a stunning Christian Dior Couture dress from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s first Haute Couture collection for the house. In keeping with the enchanted forest theme of the collection, Isha’s gown adopted floral elements and featured mistletoe embellishment and delicate beading, climbing up intricate layers of dusty pink and green tulle.  She paired the gown with a tarot-card inspired clutch from the SS17 collection, called “The Oscar’s of the East Coast”, Isha arrived at the Gala with close friends Natalia Vodianova and Diane von Furstenberg.  Also in their party of friends were Alexa Chung, Emma Roberts, Allison Williams and Dree Hemingway.

The 24-year old Yale and Stanford-educated Indian businesswoman, sits on the board of Jio and Reliance Retail and works very closely with her mother, Mrs. Nita Ambani at the Reliance Foundation. The Foundation works across health, education, sport for development and rural and urban development across India and also focuses on bringing Indian art and culture to a global stage.

Isha is presently completing her MBA at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

Hosted by American Vogue's Anna Wintour with musicians Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams, Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady, with Rei Kawakubo and former United States ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy serving as honorary co-chairs, the Met Gala was attended by a who’s who of the world of entertainment, sport, fashion, culture and society.
