Actor Shah Rukh Khan may be juggling between Imtiaz
Ali's untitled next and Aanand L. Rai's dwarf movie, but that hasn't stopped
his production house from churning a new movie. The actor's next production has
been disclosed and according to reports, the film is based on Operation Khukri
that took place in Sierra Leone in 2000.
After Raees, Red Chillies Entertainment will be
producing the film that will bring to light the most successful and daring
operation of the Indian Army and the Air Force. Allegedly, the film is scheduled
to go on-floors later this year.
A source from Red Chillies Entertainment informed the daily
that the work on script is on and a lot of time has been invested into it.
"It has been researched extensively and will be mounted on a really large
scale. It will be a true depiction of a massive military operation and will
celebrate our heroes. The director and cast are being finalised, the film will
roll later this year. The ambitious project is among the most expensive that
SRK's production house has undertaken. It will be shot in real locations in
Africa with some real armed combat battle scenes," adds the source.
For the uninitiated, Operation Khukri saw The Indian 58th
Gorkha Rifles, 14th Mechanised Infantry and elements of the 23rd Mechanised
Infantry, together designated as INDBATT-1. They were sent to West Africa as a
part of UN peacekeeping mission to help the government disarm the rebels
Revolutionary United Front (RUF).
But, an official pronouncement about the same is still
awaited. Whether SRK himself takes up the lead role or not, is also something
that we are waiting to know!
