Following the brouhaha caused during the Raees by
Rail promotion activity on January 23, Shah Rukh Khan has been booked
for “rioting” and “damaging railway property” at Kota railway station.
The case was registered against the actor on the direction
of a railway court by the GRP on Monday after hearing a plea by a vendor,
Vikram Singh.
As per to the SHO of GRP police, the vendor in his complaint
has so-called that the chaos was created by the actor's admirers when
he arrived at the Kota railway station.
He went on to say that the things got worse when the star
threw something at his admirers while he was standing at the gate of the coach
leading the supporters to burst into a frenzy in a bid to grab it,
thereby overturning his trolley and physically hurting him.
SRK has now been charged under sections 146 (obstructing
railway servant in his duties of Railway act) and 145 (nuisance), section 3
(mischief causing damage to public property of the Prevention of Damage to
Public Property Act) 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of Rs 50),
120(b) (criminal conspiracy), 149 (rioting every member of unlawful assembly
guilty of offence committed), 147 (rioting) and 160 (committing affray) of IPC.
The rail promotions of Raees also led to another
grave situation at Vadodara railway station, causing the death of one and
leaving another critically injured.
In the meantime, Raees over the third weekend has
witnessed a drop in its box office earnings and has collected Rs 1.75 crore,
making it to a total of Rs 128 crore in the country. But, overseas the film has
crossed the $10 million mark and has collected $ 13.50 million.
