Aamir Khan, who will be next seen essaying
wrestler-turned-coach Mahavir Singh Phogat in forthcoming wrestling drama
Dangal, admired about Indian athletes at the Rio Olympics and told that the
country needs to change its outlook towards sports if it wants more wins at the
global platform.
While athletes like PV Sindhu and Sakshi Malik have received
awards for bagging medals Rio, the dismal show by other Indian participants has
invited a lot of criticism from fans, but Aamir opines that Indian athletes are
giving their best and that it is the attitude of people towards sports that
needs to be changed.
Recalling his own childhood, Aamir told that his own family
members were more concerned about his act in studies rather than his
performance in sports and that such behavior sends a wrong message to the child
that sports are not as important as studies. Aamir further added that as a
child, he was inclined towards sports more than academics and that it played a
huge role in his successful film career as sports taught him about hard work,
team spirit and discipline.
Aamir will be paired opposite Sakshi Tanwar in Dangal.
