The Goods And Service Tax bill got passed on Wednesday, when
203 MPs in Rajya Sabha voted in favour of it. GST - a single national tax that
replaces a complex mesh of indirect taxes, is expected to roll out by April
2017.
GST has been trending since yesterday and even Bollywood celebrities
are excited now that it has been cleared. Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan
tweeted their delight after the bill got passed but, they did mention that they
don’t understand it much.
