Shareen Mantri Kedia wanted to make films
that would interest global audiences when she turned producer, so that’s just
what she’s doing!
The photographer-turned-moviemaker backed
Majid Majid’s Beyond The Clouds and now she’s making the new Phoolan Devi biopic
too. Shareen bought the rights to the film from the dacoit-turned-politician’s
husband Umed Singh and is now interviewing directors for the project. Phoolan
had famously disputed the accuracy of Shekhar Kapur’s The Bandit Queen, so
we’ll definitely get the right story this time.
