Multi-talented Farhan Akhtar is an actor, director, producer and
singer. He is celebrating his 44th birthday today. He has mastered all the art
forms, given the requirement of Bollywood movies. He wrote for ad films and
scripts for television.
The first break as a director was when he directed his first
feature movie Dil Chahta Hai (DCH) in 2001, and it changed the perspective of
how we should see Bollywood films. The movie is still so significant and is
considered as one of the cult movies. He not only directed it but he was the
one who penned it. Earlier, in a media chat, he had told, “You have to be
emotionally prepared to enjoy success when it happens. More importantly, you
have to learn how to take failure in your stride & pick yourself up again.”
Farhan is one experimental man who is not afraid of taking
risks. We have seen him as a strong actor on the big screen. Starting from Rock
On, the actor was appreciated for the role of a lead singer in a rock band. We
have also seen him nail the character of Milkha Singh, the champion Olympian
athlete, in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
He has always taken a stand when it comes to women’s issues
with his initiative MARD – Men Against Rape and Discrimination.
