Bollywood criticizes comedian Kiku Sharda's arrest!

Kiku Sharda rubbed the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh the wrong way, when he mimicked the godman-turned-actor in Zee TV's show Jashan-e-Umeed. Following his act the actor was arrested for hurting pious sentiments of a few. He was later released on bail after submitting a bond of Rs. 1 lakh but, he was rearrested by Haryana Police last night and was released today.

However Kiku has apologized and has stated that he didn't mean to spoof Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, many Bollywood actors are disappointed with his arrest and have come out in his support.

Here's what they have to say:

Sonakshi Sinha tweeted, “Someone imitates god - nothing. Kiku imitates someone - gets arrested. This is wrong on SO many levels its not even funny.”

Anurag Kashyap posted, “Gurmeet Ram Rahim insults the sensibilities of anyone who is sixth class pass with his MSG films.. Why is he not arrested???”

Huma Qureshi tweeted, “Living in the times where one can get arrested for laughing lampooning and imitation .. will I get arrested for tweeting next?”

Vir Das posted, “I don't see our leaders getting arrested for behaving like comedians everyday.”

Vishal Dadlani, posted ”Heard @kikusharda 's been remanded to judicial custody for mimicking RamRahim on TV! Absurd! RamRahim's 'films' are the real joke, anyway!”

Rishi Kapoor tweeted, “See this picture!I would like to play this rockstar in a film. Let me see who puts me behind bars? Go Kiku Sharda!”

Boman Irani posted, “First things first, If the man has sincerely apologised could someone please put him out of his misery!!!”
