What happens when a Maratha general falls in love with a
Muslim warrior princess? Well, it lays the foundation of a historical romance,
which is sure to be remembered till eternity. The teaser of Sanjay Leela
Bhansali's much-anticipated film Bajirao Mastani has been unveiled and one look
at it and you can safely say that it was worth all the wait.
The movie features Ranveer Singh as Bajirao, Deepika
Padukone as Mastani and Priyanka Chopra as Kashibai. Ranveer looks dapper as
the celebrated Maratha Peshwa and Priyanka looks lovely as his wife, dressed in
navari sari. Deepika has two looks in the movie, one in which she is seen
fighting her enemies clad in an armour, the second one is a more feminine one
in which she is seen wearing anarkalis. Both Ranveer and DeePee are shown to be
experts in horse-riding, archery and swordsmanship. The teaser also shows a
glimpse of the much-talked about dance-off between the film's two leading
ladies.
While many believe Mastani was Bajirao's mistress, the fact
is that she was his lawfully wedded second wife and to reaffirm this, one can
hear Ranveer saying towards the end of the trailer, "Bajirao ne Mastani se
mohabbat ki hai ayyashi nahi."
