Akshay Kumar's PadMan which is a biopic on Arunachalam
Muruganantham, a small town entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu who invented low-cost
sanitary napkins to generate awareness in rural areas, is all set to release
next year on April 13, 2018.
Sharing a poster of the movie, Akshay wrote, "Mark your
calendars! Mrsfunnybones and R. Balki's Padman releasing on 13th April 2018!
@PadManTheFilm."
In the poster, Akshay Kumar is seen riding a bicycle
nonchalantly with his hands sprang up in ecstasy, alongside the ghats. The
poster also reveals the release date of the movie.
With PadMan, Twinkle Khanna turns producer and the movie is
being directed by R Balki.
The movie also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the
lead role. The movie will also see Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo.
The movie has been extensively shot in Madhya Pradesh. Sonam
Kapoor while talking about working with R Balki had earlier said, "I have been a fan of R.
Balki since the beginning and I was itching to work with him not realizing,
when I do work with him, I will just fall in love with the kind of human being
he is and the kind of work he wants to do. He is truly an artist and thinks
differently. He wants to say something which each of his films. We have a great
rapport. I keep teasing him that he will miss me so much after the shoot is
wrapped up but honestly, it is me who will miss him."
Akshay is currently busy promoting Toilet Ek Prem Katha
which also stars Bhumi Pednekar. The movie releases next week on August 11,
2017.
