It’s not pleasant for both the parties and will impact both, tells Twinkle on PadMan vs Padmaavat clash!

The first Bollywood clash in 2018 is Padmaavat vs PadMan.

Film Padmaavat has been riddled with disputes from the get go and has finally settled on the release date of January 25, 2018. But, the date was already taken by PadMan previously.

When a tabloid questioned PadMan producer Twinkle Khanna about the clash, she told, "It’s not pleasant for both [the parties] and will impact both. But they have also been through enough of their own hurdles. But I wish they would have come a week earlier or a week after us preferably. I am sure Mr [Sanjay Leela] Bhansali has made a wonderful movie but we are very confident of our content. So, I am not apprehensive, and we are not going to move or anything because we are very happy with what [date] we have. (laughs). He has been making relevant choices. He has also been undergoing a personal evolution. What I find remarkable, as somebody who has been with him for almost 18 years now, is that he isn’t afraid to take leaps and change with times and grow. Even his thought process vis-à-vis what he would think 10 years ago and now, is evolving. That’s [how] all of us [are] at this age."

R. Balki's PadMan is based on Arunachalam Muruganantham (inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas) and stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.

Akshay Kumar opens up about PadMan's clash with Aiyaary!

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan's trailer has received a lot of optimistic response. The movie is based on the concept of menstruation and importance of sanitary napkin for women. Directed by R Balki, the movie will be releasing on January 26, 2018.

On the same time, Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Aiyaary will be releasing. The plot spins around two Indian army officers who have their own sets of principles and way of working. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the trailer of Aiyaary has also received a good response from the audience.

As stated by a media source, when Akshay was asked about PadMan and Aiyaary clash, he revealed, "Both the films are absolutely different. Neeraj is a dear friend of mine. There is nothing like clash. The word clash is media created. My film might get screened in 2,800 screens or so. Theirs would be in 1,600-1,800 or more. There are 4,000-5,000 screens so how come there is a clash. That film is different and so is ours. So there is no clash as such."

PadMan is produced by Twinkle Khanna and she did an extensive research on the story based on Arunachalam Muruganantham, the inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas.

About PadMan, Akshay told, "The concept of Padman was Twinkle's and it is written and directed by R Balki. It is a very honest subject which we have brought in front of the Indian audience. It talks about sanitary pads and nobody ever spoke about it earlier. It is an attempt to tell what women go through."

Akshay Kumar’s deep conviction to enact Muruganantham’s life as per R Balki!

Top filmmaker R Balki is a remarkable storyteller who has directed films specifically Cheeni Kum, Paa and Shamitabh. Now, he is gearing up for his next directorial that is PadMan starring Akshay Kumar in the titular role.

Balki is all admirations for Akshay and spoke about him to a tabloid stating, "Akshay is a huge star, but more than that, he is a fantastic actor. We always keep thinking of him as a great star, but he is one of the most incredible actors because he lives the role. He showed deep conviction while bringing to screen Muruganantham’s life."

Film PadMan is based on Arunachalam Muruganantham, the inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas. And Balki further added that the movie is an adaptation and not a docu-drama.

The director further added, "Of course there’s a bit of fiction in it, but for cinematic purposes, we all take liberties. But what matters is, cinematically how we deliver Muruganantham’s life and do justice to it, I don’t think anybody could have done it better than Akshay Kumar."

Padman is produced by Twinkle Khanna's Mrs. Funnybones Productions and also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor. The movie is scheduled to release on January 26, 2018.

The primary release date of the movie was April 13, 2018, and now Akshay disclsoed the new date of the release. The movie will now hit the screens on January 26, 2018.

Akshay posted the poster of the movie in which he is seen riding a bicycle along the Ganges in Banaras. He revealed, "Not all superheroes come with capes! Bringing you the true story of a real superhero, #Padman this Republic Day - 26th January, 2018!" The tagline of Padman is The True Story of a Real Super Hero.

With PadMan, Twinkle Khanna turns producer and the movie is being directed by R Balki.

The film also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead role. The movie will also see Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo. The movie has been widely shot in Madhya Pradesh.

As per schedule, Rajinikanth's film 2.0 is slated to release on 25th January 2018.

Akshay Kumar's PadMan which is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, a small town entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu who invented low-cost sanitary napkins to generate awareness in rural areas, is all set to release next year on April 13, 2018.

Sharing a poster of the movie, Akshay wrote, "Mark your calendars! Mrsfunnybones and R. Balki's Padman releasing on 13th April 2018! @PadManTheFilm."

In the poster, Akshay Kumar is seen riding a bicycle nonchalantly with his hands sprang up in ecstasy, alongside the ghats. The poster also reveals the release date of the movie.

With PadMan, Twinkle Khanna turns producer and the movie is being directed by R Balki.

The movie also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead role. The movie will also see Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo.

The movie has been extensively shot in Madhya Pradesh. Sonam Kapoor while talking about working with R Balki had  earlier said, "I have been a fan of R. Balki since the beginning and I was itching to work with him not realizing, when I do work with him, I will just fall in love with the kind of human being he is and the kind of work he wants to do. He is truly an artist and thinks differently. He wants to say something which each of his films. We have a great rapport. I keep teasing him that he will miss me so much after the shoot is wrapped up but honestly, it is me who will miss him."

Akshay is currently busy promoting Toilet Ek Prem Katha which also stars Bhumi Pednekar. The movie releases next week on August 11, 2017.

Bollywood’s powerful couple Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna have teamed for their forthcoming project, PadMan. The movie is a biopic of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a small town entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu who invented low-cost sanitary napkins to generate awareness in rural areas. 

Crediting his wife Twinkle for his sartorial sense, Akshay said a famous daily, "My mother-in-law [veteran actress Dimple Kapadia] is a style icon and wouldn't have me any other way. I have no option but match up to the ladies in the family. When my house was being made, my only contribution was to say nothing. And it looks pretty damn good. The same way, when she tells me what to wear, whether it's by bullying or not, I just follow her instructions."

Is Twinkle as a producer takes a call for every shot in PadMan? Well, then the answer is No. As per Akshay, the film sets would be the last place that she would want to be at. Akshay told, "She hardly comes for the shoot. She is allowing the director [R Balki] to take charge of the material exactly they way he wants. Since she was a part of the industry and has seen her parents at work, a film set is the last place she wants to be. She hates it."

But that doesn't mean that Twinkle isn't a perfect one for taking the duty of being a producer. Explaining it, Akshay told, "When the script was in the works, she was clued in to every step of research. But if my wife wasn't producing the film, I'd have still done the film." 

Akshay further added, "I am not here to make a documentary. Of course, we won't preach, but what we have to say has been done carefully, with slight humour, subtlety and maturity that the subject demands."

Speaking about his next project, he told he won't be sharing screen space with Salman Khan. Explaining his statement, he told, "Yes, it's true that Salman is just producing the film and I am acting in it. It'd have been great to share screen space with him, but that's not what the script requires.”

Sonam feels different experience with Akshay!

Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor have been paired opposite each other in their forthcoming movie, PadMan. The movie tells the life story of Tamil Nadu-based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who revolutionised the idea of menstrual hygiene in rural India by creating a low-cost sanitary napkins machine.

Speaking about working with Akshay, Sonam said a famous agency, “This the second time I am working with Akshay and it was a completely different experience. I respect Akshay for doing relevant and content-driven films. As an actor, he is honest to his work and as a person, he is very disciplined."

The movie is directed by R Balki and Sonam is blessed to work with him. She told, “I feel blessed to be working Balki sir. I am going to miss him after the shoot, he is a positive and crazy person. He doesn’t yell at anybody.”

Sonam is going an extra mile for her forthcoming movie, PadMan. According to reports, she took lessons to play the instrument from the 28-year-old renowned tabla player and percussionist Mukta Madan Raste. A source was quoted tellinh, "As Sonam plays a tabla player in Padman, she is making time to learn the nuances of playing the instrument. Even while travelling, she takes a music book along and finds time to practise on her own. Mukta also has a small role in the film and she plays a sarangi player and trains Sonam, too."

Radhika Apte becomes Akshay Kumar’s wife now!

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is all set to be seen in a biopic directed by R. Balki. Titled PadMan, the film is loosely based on the life of the entrepreneur Padma Shri Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented the machine that manufactures sanitary pads in low cost.

Actress Sonam Kapoor has been roped in to play a key role in the movie. Now, as per a famous daily, gifted actor, Radhika Apte is also part of the cast. She confirmed the news stating, "Shooting begins in early March and prep starts this week. The characters speak shudh Hindi so I'll be focussing on my dialect. I've had some readings with Akshay and Sonam and though the film is based on real people, I'm trying to stick to the script and how Balki sir perceives my character."

Apte will be seen essaying the role of Akshay's wife in the movie. Speaking about it, she told, "Akshay's is the main part, but I play his wife and that's a crucial role. In certain films it's not about the length of the role but what your part adds to it. There's a lot of meat in this character and I'm excited."

Radhika Apte was all praises for her co-stars Akshay and Sonam, she further added, "I've grown up watching Akshay's films, he's been there eternally and is always in great form. I met him for the first time at the reading and his questions, suggestions and concerns about the script and characters were interesting. I've met Sonam a few times, she's lovely and I'm looking forward to spending time with her at the shoot."

Speaking about the subject of the movie which is still considered a taboo topic in the country, Radhika concluded by telling, "It's high time we began discussing these issues without shame or shyness."
