Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt will be
collaborating for the first time in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy which is based on
the lives of street rappers. The twosome will soon begin shooting for the movie
this month as the prep work for the same began last year itself.
Speaking about the movie and working with Zoya again after
Dil Dhadakne Do, Ranveer told to a tabloid, "In January itself, I start
Gully Boy for which I collaborate with Zoya, who is very dear and special in my
life as a collaborator, person as well as a director."
The actor was also all admirations for his co-star Alia and
added, "Also, it’s my first collaboration on a full-length feature film
with Alia [Bhatt], who I rate very high as an actor. She is certainly among the
best actors in today’s day-and-age. I believe she is on her way towards
greatness."
Also, Gully Boy, Ranveer has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's
Padmavati, Rohit Shetty's Simmbaand Kabir Khan's '83 which is a biopic based on
cricketer Kapil Dev. When questioned if he feels a bit of pressure due to the
exceeding expectations from his flicks, Ranveer disclosed, "I would not
term it as ‘pressure’ as it has a negative connotation. I look at it as
responsibility. And my first responsibility is towards people whose lives are
directly connected with mine — my family, friends, team and fans, who
contribute to my life in a direct way. I am answerable to them as well."
