The upcoming film Gully Boy is Zoya Akhtar's next directorial
after the family comedy-drama Dil Dhadakne Do. The filmmaker will be uniting
with Ranveer Singh yet again and the actor will be paired opposite Alia Bhatt
for the first time.
For the knowledge, Gully Boy is inspired by the lives of
Mumbai street rappers Divine and Naezy and Ranveer will be seen as a rapper,
himself.
Now, in latest developments, joining the cast will be the talented
actress Kalki Koechlin, s per a famous daily. The actress has worked with Zoya
before in the coming-of-age travel film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The stellar
cast included Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Abhay Deol
opposite whom Kalki was paired.
The daily further revealed that Kalki will be essaying a
rapper in the movie just like Ranveer.
Gully Boy is all set to go on floors next week and will be
shot across Mumbai including the slum areas of Dharavi. The release date for
Gully Boy is yet to be pronounced.
