Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has joined the ranks of Mallika
Sarabhai, Shabana Azmi and Amitabh Bachchan after getting the prestigious
Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos on Monday.
Sir Elton John and Cate Blanchett were also honoured with the same award for
their contribution in making the world a better place.
Shah Rukh Khan was honored with this award for his
leadership in championing children’s and women’s rights in India. Shah Rukh
Khan has been working with women who have been victims of acid attack through
his NGO- Meer Foundation.
Now after winning the prominent award, it’s time for Shah
Rukh Khan to bid goodbye to Davos. He posted a heartfelt post on Twitter, telling,’’
Goodbye Davos. Thanks Prof. & Mrs. Schwab for the Crystal award. To all
wonderful people at Davos for being so gracious and lovely.’’
SRK had given an inspiring speech after winning the Crystal
Award in which he spoke about the need for power reversal, the importance of
service of others and about women empowerment.
