Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda
has always been under the media scanner for being a star kid. The young girl,
who loves a massive fan following on social media, often finds herself under conjectures
about her Bollywood debut and acting plans.
But, in her first ever interview with a magazine, the young
girl repudiated the rumours and has put it out straight, that she is no way
interested in doing films.
Navya says, "No way I'll make a career in acting. I am
enjoying my internship at the advertising agency. I love the independence I get
in Manhattan."
Navya's mother Shweta states, "I really try to tell
Navya about all the cons [of being a part of the film industry]. I have nothing
against the industry, it's who we are. But, it's not an easy world to be
in."
In Manhattan, the beautiful girl spends her day by attending
a spinning class in the morning, trawling the city streets later and relishing
meals with friends at her favourite restaurant, Serafina.
Fascinatingly, though Shweta thinks that Navya hasn't taken
after either of her parents, Navya disagrees and feels that she has a lot of
qualities that of her mother. Navya clarifies, "I am confident, self-aware
and polite. I have also inherited a love for reading, and want everything from
my mother's closet, including her shoes."
At a time when kids and parents don't get along well, Navya confesses
that she is best friends with her mommy dearest Shweta. Not just that, but she
also disclosed that she is her grandmother Jaya Bachchan's 'favourite
grandchild'. Given Navya's equation with Shweta, their banter is hard to miss
in the interview. "She [Shweta] uses all the wrong lingo... And she has to
punctuate everything! It drives me crazy," Navya discloses.
