The fire casualty at the 'Make In India' event at Girgaum
Chowpatty, which was attended by many celebrities and politicians, has left everybody
shocked and it seems that Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan had a narrow
escape when the fire broke out.
Taking to his Twitter page, the Big B posted, "First
Off : I am safe and well .. a providential escape from fire at Make in India
event where i had just finished performing ! What happened at event ? I just
finished my performance got off stage and sat in my car and left .. just then
fire on stage broke ! Production was wanting me to stay & go back on to
meet the CM .. had I gone back would have been caught in fire .. providential.
But its God's grace that immediate action was taken and the fire brought under
control .. and no casualties !! But frightening !!"
At around 8:22 pm on February 14, a fire broke out from
beneath the stage when Marathi movie actress Pooja Sawant, was performing a
lavani number with a group on the stage. The actress and the group of dancers
were taken backstage and evacuated from the venue instantaneously.
