Recently, there was a newsbreak around Akshay Kumar being
approached to play the title role in Hindi adaptation of Hollywood hit Chef. It
astonished many since Saif Ali Khan had already been finalised for the part. It
was being said that since Airlift director Raja Menon had developed a great
working equation with Akshay, the duo would make for a great pair again with
Chef (it is a different matter though that an official confirmation is yet
awaited for even Raja being finalised as the director for Chef).
As has turned out though, the speculation is baseless.
"No, Akshay is not doing Chef. In fact he was never
even approached. It is Saif who stays on to be in the film," confirms close
source.
